The team treasurer spreadsheet
From the season budget to what every household owes, with split households and fundraising credits handled. It’s what we’d use if we were running a travel team on a spreadsheet today.
- BudgetWhat the season costs the team: league, refs, fields, coach stipend, tournaments, the party. Take off sponsorships and team fundraising, and it works out the dues per player, rounded up to $5.
- PlayersOne row per player, with up to two households and the share each pays. Total fees, credits, paid, balance, what each household still owes, what’s overdue today and a status, all calculated.
- FeesEach fee once, applied to one player or to “All players”. Installments are one row each (dues 1 of 3, 2 of 3…), so every due date is visible.
- PaymentsEvery Venmo, Zelle, check and card payment, logged against a player and the household that paid. A check column catches typos in names.
- CreditsFundraising credits per player: raffle sales, sponsor finds, car-wash shifts. Give a credit to one household, or share it by the split.
- HouseholdsWhat each household owes across all its players, siblings and split players included, plus whole-team totals: collected, still to collect, overdue.
Comes with a sample team (six players, two of them split between households) so you can see the formulas work. Delete the samples and add your own. The XLSX opens in Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets (File → Import). There’s also a one-tab CSV for a quick start in Google Sheets.

When the spreadsheet becomes a second job
A spreadsheet works for one team and a patient treasurer. Add two households per player, three tournaments, a hotel block and a raffle, and it turns into evenings of matching Venmo screenshots. That’s why we’re building Sideline Dues: the same season, with autopay, split payers and reminders built in.
